How much chlorine bleach is needed in a full load of wash to kill bacteria?

I would like to use a minimal amount. I don't need to bleach the laundry. How much chlorine bleach is needed in a full load of wash to kill bacteria?
3 tablespoons of bleach in 5 gallons of water will kill all bacteria. I make homemade beer and wine and that's what I used to use for disinfection purposes before I found better products to use. But for laundry that's all you need. How much chlorine bleach is needed in a full load of wash to kill bacteria?
you would need to read the label as different brands are at different strengths apart from that an oxygen bleach may be kinder on your clothes. There are lots of products although the chlorine is probably the least expensive...also depends on how much water your machine uses good idea to put in the water and mix in the chlorine before you add the clothes as it can have a bleaching effect when too strong
With these new machines especially, that only require 1/4 cup of laundry detergent for a load of laundry, I would suggest not more than 1/4 cup of bleach.

That kind of bleach-for whites only-no colors in the load.Or you will end up with tinted whites.

Take care.
1 cup is what the commercial says. Use cold water with bleach because the heat causes it ti evaporate out and not work as well.
I would not use chlorine bleach at all to kill bacteria. I would just go with a hot water cycle. That should help. You can also use half a scoop of Oxyclean along with your detergent.

Good luck
i would use for a full load 1/2 cup.
