If you wash off the semi permanent dye, will it turn back to the same bleach color it was originally? ?

You see, i dyed my hair blue today and i hate it a lot! And i really do not want to re bleach my hair otherwise it will damage the hair even more. So if i washed my hair for six week, obviously the dye will fade, but will it fade back to the natural hair color or bleach blonde? If you wash off the semi permanent dye, will it turn back to the same bleach color it was originally? ?
I think shaving your head will be the fastest result. If you wash off the semi permanent dye, will it turn back to the same bleach color it was originally? ?
:) yes it will come out, ';there is a product that helps remove it also';

it will return {sorta} to the bleach job you had done- and the natural hair will grow back out near the roots lol- you should have the tips done blue- its just few tips at the end of the hair.

  • When ur bleaching and coloring ur hair should u add the color to the bleach or wash the bleach out then color?

after the bleach has processed, you wash it out. You can add the color next;)When ur bleaching and coloring ur hair should u add the color to the bleach or wash the bleach out then color?
oh my ,go to the professionalsWhen ur bleaching and coloring ur hair should u add the color to the bleach or wash the bleach out then color?
wash the bleach out first and i recommend you wait for one or more days until you color your hair cos when the hair is clean your skin (or sculp) is more sensitive and more likely to hurt
Wash the bleach out - blow dry your hair. Then do the color. This will further open up the hairs to accept the color. Be careful and follow all instructions! If your hair gets messed up, don't try to fix it yourself, go see a professional. Good luck! :)

How to wash cat pee out of car seat covers so it does smell without using bleach?

White vinegar will naturalize the odor...How to wash cat pee out of car seat covers so it does smell without using bleach?
Natures Miracle will completely get rid of the smell. Just wash them according to the instructions and spray the Natures Miracle on there and the enzymes will actually eat away any cat urine that is on there. I have 4 cats and that stuff is a God send. It comes in just a regular formula and one that is especially for cats. Be sure you get the cat kind. God bless!!How to wash cat pee out of car seat covers so it does smell without using bleach?
Wash it in hot water and use oxy clean DAMN CATS!!!
thats tough... if you get it too wet it will soak into the foam and stink every time it gets hot or wet...

Try a small amount of a water based cleaner and maybe even a touch of white vinegar...

dont use oxy clean... i would only ever use that in a washing machine where it could rinse well or on hard surfaces...

failing that, call Stanley steemer cause they use hot water extraction to suck it out, they can also put on a bacterial de-odouriser.

No telling, it could white out, lighten, blotch it. Just go BUY one you like. Oh by the way your link is broken. No picture. What color will my hat turn if I bleach it in the wash?
it could get blotchy, and a peach color. I have a pair of khaki pants that got bleached and they didn't bleach evenly and they turned a light pink/peach.

Does hair 'toner' actually dye your hair? Has it got bleach in it? Or is it just a wash out thing?

My hair has been toned down to a dark blonde, but I really want to brighten it without using bleach. Would a toner help? Blonde hair is filled with mysteries and questions. I just want it to have the healthiest treatment possible to get it blonder!!Does hair 'toner' actually dye your hair? Has it got bleach in it? Or is it just a wash out thing?
Yes - a toner dyes hair. It's used on light blond highlights to tone down the brassy-gold colour caused by the bleaching process when going from brown to blonde and then covers the range of the darker colours. Women, mainly, use toner to colour their grey hair and, although, it does become a bit lighter with shampooing, it takes many weeks. The only way to brighten your hair is to bleach it. See link below and scroll down to view listings at lower right.Does hair 'toner' actually dye your hair? Has it got bleach in it? Or is it just a wash out thing?
    Hi there..

No toner doesn't have bleach in it...it just has certain chemicals that tone the brassy colours.

No matter what colour you dye your hair you're still using bleach to activate the colour.... but blonde's just need MORE bleach!!??

But if you want you can try ';fudge'; colour , and shampoo to keep it lasting longer??

    http://shopping.yahoo.com.au/xCC--static鈥?/a>

    Good luck ;)
Toner for your hair will tint it but only darker then the color it is not lighter. I color my hair blonde and they always tone it a lavender shade to counter act the orange and neutralize it. You cant ';lighten'; your hair with bleaching it.

Can u wash your mouth out with Bleach?

This seem very strange and dangerous, but I seen it on the Tyra Banks show, this young girl had really bad breath and she washes her mouth out with bleach and nothing happens to her! I wouldn't try it but would u? Have u ever heard of this? Can u wash your mouth out with Bleach?
No to dangerous. Can u wash your mouth out with Bleach?
Bleach is TOXIC!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! You shouldn't even use it on your clothes as it is that toxic.
Bleach is toxic. If this girl is really washing her mouth with it, she is probably slowly burning away the membrane in her mouth.
NO! Bleach is toxic - it will make you sick or kill you.

If you want to rinse your mouth, use mouthwash. That's what it's for.

Don't believe everything you see on TV. Maybe she put a little bit of bleach in some water, and used that?
please do not use bleach, if you want to use anything use menthol added water.
i wouldnt do that, the closest to bleach i would get is peroxide. it helps clean out your mouth
    ha ha no
    no
OH, DEAR LORD!! DON'T DO IT!! Is it possible you missed part of that segment on the TB show? It may be that the girl was rinsing with a safe, ';bleach'; based OTC product for oral hygiene. Bleach is used to decontaminate drinking water in some cases, but the ratio of bleach to water is enormous. If you read the warning label of bleach you will see that it's not a good idea to rinse with it. There are some safe and effective products at your local pharmacy for treating bad breath. They are new to the market, and they have been proven safe and effective. Regular visits to your dentist for cleanings helps to prevent bad breath also. Please, NO BLEACH!!
Definitely not %26gt;.%26gt; Bleach is toxic and very unsafe. The best way to keep up oral hyigene would be to brush at least twice a day for 2 mins, floss and visit your dentist reguarly.
Extremely dangerous... do not attempt. Hydrogen peroxide is safe and has some bleaching effect. Never attempt using chlorine bleach... chance of death.

How can i die my bleach blonde hair brown, but i want it to wash out with in a few weeks.?

its been blonde for many years, its my birthday soon an i want to die it dark brown. but temporarily, i want it to wash out, if it dosent wash out all the way i make a kinda bleach shampoo an it lifts it. should i get semi permanant.a rinse ? what will be the best? How can i die my bleach blonde hair brown, but i want it to wash out with in a few weeks.?
use only Semi permanent hair dye. For extra insurance I'd also buy L'Oreal Haircolor Removal kit. Here's a link: http://www.cvs.com/CVSApp/catalog/shop_p鈥?/a>

Its in the same section as the hair dye. Its about $13 at my local CVS and I use it, especially when I am drastically changing hair colors. Just this week, I went from golden blonde and auburn to brown, so I used it to make sure none of the old dye mixed with the new dye. Good luck!! ;)How can i die my bleach blonde hair brown, but i want it to wash out with in a few weeks.?
    Heather,

This should be handled by a professional colorist. Bleaching your hair takes out a lot of it's structure. So if you were to use a semi-permanent color it could do what is called ';grabbing.'; That means it can take hold and not let go (any time soon.) Some of the color does come out, but not all at the same time, or in the same place. It can be some very odd looking effects. You don't want that.

What you can do, that should be temporary, is use a temporary rinse called ';Roux.'; For untreated hair it washes out with the next shampoo. For bleached hair some of it may take two or three shampoos. It comes in all sorts of colors, though they won't be that dark.

There are sprays used for Halloween colors you can find, but while they work alright on untreated hair, again, they may grab on and hold their bright oranges, greens, purples, etc. I don't recommend you use any of those.

Why not use a wig the color you want? It comes off at the end of the night, and goes back on when ever you want. Much safer.
Then temp dye. it matters how long you want it to last.

    I would say semi..than.

  • I put bleach in with my ripped jeans in the wash to make them fray. Should I add detergent?

    * Straight Chlorine Bleach at neutral PH is extremely damaging to cotton fibers.

    * Add a1/4 cup of laundry liquid or powder to the wash as well.

Good Luck!!I put bleach in with my ripped jeans in the wash to make them fray. Should I add detergent?
By all means, use detergent also or you'll weaken the material in the jeans %26amp; they won't last long.I put bleach in with my ripped jeans in the wash to make them fray. Should I add detergent?
Yes, don't put to much bleach on your jeans or it will eat the fabric, just don't use straight bleach.

I want to wash white clothes with bleach....?

This is my first time using bleach in the washing machine, I just want to know do I put the bleach in the washing machine like with all the clothes and how much do I put?I want to wash white clothes with bleach....?
    Bleach for whites?

I add it directly to the water after machine has filled soap

    and then clothing.

Some machines have a bleach dispenser..

I personally add my clothing after soaps and bleach have been added.

Average is 3/4 cup for full loads and white towels.

I find i dont need more and 1/2 unless some really ground in or heavy soil.I want to wash white clothes with bleach....?
IF YOU PUT THE BLEACH IN WITH THE CLOTHES MAKE SURE YOUR WATTER LEVEL IN THE MACHINE IS HIGH IF NOT COULD TURN YOUR CLOTHES YELLOW IF IT DIRECTLY HITS YOUR CLOTHES. DEPENDING ON SIZE OF LOAD DEPENDS ON HOW MUCH BLEACH. IF YOU DONT TRUST YOUR JUDGEMENT JUST PUT A FEW CAP FULLS IN.(3-5)
It tells you on the bleach bottle how much to add.

You should dilute it in a quart of water and add it about 5 mins after the wash cycle begins.
Add the bleach when the water is filled to the top, or if you have a bleach compartment put it there. Read the bottle label to see how much they recommend to add. I usually add just a capful. I originally thought if I added more it would make them whiter, but if you add too much bleach it will make the fabric thinner and even tear holes in the fabric.

Also, don't use the bleach gels. I used those and the blobs of gel didn't leave my washer, they stuck around to bleach my next load of clothes, which wasn't a load of whites.
Half cup full of bleach is that is need.

I suggest adding more detergent insides of bleach.
It depends on the size of your loads as to how much bleach you use. I start the washer water coming in i add bleach this way the water mixes the bleach with the water and then you wont have to worry if any thing is destroyed,

Look on bleach bottle gives amount you should use also if your washer has a bleach holder can use this,

DONT put any colour items with.
If you get a bleach laundry soap you wont need bleach, or an additive like oxyclean. Bleach is really harsh on clothes, even diluted by a lot of water, it can wear down fabrics.

What happens if you don't wash the clothing after u use the Clorox Bleach Pen?

I have very hard water and need to know how to wash whites without bleach so they win't come out dingy?

    Brightening White Clothing

You should be able to restore dingy clothes to white (and not damage the fibres of the fabric) by soaking them them in lukewarm water and color safe or oxygen bleach for 24 hours, then rinse them with vinegar and water. Use one tablespoon of vinegar to one quart of water. Your clothes may be turning gray because you have hard water, and this diminishes the effectiveness of detergents, and often leaves a residue on clothing. If you think this is the case, you may want to add a powdered water softener to your wash, particularly when washing white clothes.:)I have very hard water and need to know how to wash whites without bleach so they win't come out dingy?

Tide w/ bleach alternative works great! It brightens colors and whites and smells good!
Another alternative would be to add borax to your laundry soap.

Personally I make my own laundry soap.

    1cup borax

    1 cup washing soda

    1 bar of soap

    5 gallon bucket

Shred bar soap in pan of hot water and heat until dissolved. Then add borax and washing soda. Stir until dissolved. Pour into bucket and add HOT water from tub until 3/4 full. Stir occasionally for 2 days until it gels up. It lasts my family of 5 for 3-4 months.
There are great bleach alternatives like Clorox 2 and Oxy Clean. I use both and they work great. I also use plain old hydrogen peroxide straight out of the bottle on tough stains, so you can use that to spot treat whites. All three of these products are available at grocery stores, Target, WalMart, KMart, etc. Good luck to you!
There is some stuff called white out it is in a jug it is used for laudry for whites for people who have well water and hard water, peroxide also works on whites I use peroxide because I am allergic to bleach. You can buy the white out stuff in the laundry section of walmart K-mart sometimes walgreens.

What is the effect of home used bleach, washing detergent and insecticide on plants?

i would like to know what effects do these chemicals have on plants and a source of your information would be greatly appreciated.

please tell me what these home used chemicals on plants:

    white home used BLEACH

    home used WASHING DETERGENT

home used INSECTICIDE that is sprayed indoors and outdoors.

    thanks

please provide a source for your info. What is the effect of home used bleach, washing detergent and insecticide on plants?
my source is ';from experience';. Never use bleach or you'll kill the plant. Weak detergents like joy (a tad of it only) in a LOT of water can give bugs diarrhea so they leave. Insecticide made specifically for house plants can be sprayed ';lightly'; on the underside of leaves and on the stalk only when you see bugs on them, and be sure to spray that when your plant is outdoors or you'll asphixiate yourelf. Don't use the insecticide if you have pets or children around as they might play with the leaves or eat them. There are special insecticides for outdoors, they are stronger and kill a lot of different kinds of bugs and they are usually put into a sprayer attached to your garden hose and you'll be using gloves when applying that. Again, be careful with that stuff when there are children and pets around, and don't use it on a hot day. What is the effect of home used bleach, washing detergent and insecticide on plants?
Sodium-based detergents (such as dish or laundry washing) will damage plant tissue. The insecticidal soaps (such as Safer's) are potassium-based and are not harmful to plants.

I would not use bleach on any plant. It might kill bugs, but it would damage the plant, too, so what is the point of using it?

If I wash a pink & white jersey with stains on it in mostly water bleach water, will it mess up the pink?

I have a pink and white jersy and got orange stuff on just the white part. I've tried Oxy-Clean, spot bleaching it, and covering it in detergent along with other stain removers. If I put it in bleach water, with mostly water, will it destroy the pink? I plan on wearing it very soon, so it can't be any long term repairs. If I wash a pink %26amp; white jersey with stains on it in mostly water bleach water, will it mess up the pink?
Yes. Bleach takes out any color, even if the entire shirt is not white. I would not reccommend using it.If I wash a pink %26amp; white jersey with stains on it in mostly water bleach water, will it mess up the pink?
Use a non chlorine bleach made for colors
No , I have put a lighter color in with some white things that I bleached and they came out fine. Good luck!!
    yes...
Use the new tide pen. You can buy it at your local grocery store...It is really great..You might have seen advertisements on your tv about the pen...
mix peroxide with a liquid cleaner and apply to the spot. let sit for 2 hours then apply more liquid cleaner to scrub the peroxide in let sit overnight. Rinse next day and spots should be gone-if not repeat this process-it is a winner and vinegar may help to if the spot is oily but vinegar stinks and can leave a spot so i wouldn't use it
Carbona makes some amazing stain removers. My mom uses them and she is a chronic spiller.
use clorox bleach pen on spots it wont run into the pink i swear by this pen its worth the few bucks , dont let the bleach sit though gluck
yes it will mess up the pink, use simple green, i got pomegranite juice in a white skirt and it got it out no problem, so yea try simple green, the concentrate kind
Sorry but you may not be wearing it soon. If the stain is old it makes it harder. Try the bleach pen or even try dabbing some dilluted bleach on the stain with Q Tips. No, it won't destroy the pink, if it is a real bright pink it might lighten a bit but you probably won't notice. Bleach can destroy the fabric if it is left on for too long, so be careful. You could try hydrogen peroxide, dab it on with a Q Tip and then put it outside where the sun can get to it. The peroxide bleaches slowly, as does the sun together they might get it. My favorite spot remover is equal parts Borax and dishwasher detergent disolved in the hottest water you can safely use with the shirt then soak it overnight and wash as usual. It seems to be the best for removing old stains. Is the shirt wearable with the stain? If not you can try anything and everything since you have nothing to loose.
I Would Try Washing It In Clod Water With No Bleach.Don't Dry It Till You See If The Stain Is Off It.If It Is Not I Would Soak It In Just Cold Water For A Couple Of Days.
there is a bleach for colors ......try it
if you don't use too much bleach it will probably be okay, it may fade the pink some, but shouldn't be too bad.
Well that's a tough one. Depending on the type of fabric it is, it might fade the pink. I would try just dabing the white with the stain with bleach (not full strength) let it set for about ten min then see if the stain is gone. If not well go for the bleach water.

What clothes do you put in the bleach wash?

White, dirty socks, bath towels, hand towels, kitchen towels. I even throw my bed sheets in. Be careful when using bleach. People have a tendency to ';over use';. A capful is plenty! :}What clothes do you put in the bleach wash?
I rarely use bleach on fabrics and only on whites..but not all white fabrics can take bleach..some yellow, some loose their elasticity, some wear faster. What clothes do you put in the bleach wash?
Lauren, the answer is NONE! Other items like towels, t-towels, white sox, white underwear may be bleached, but NEVER clothes and never anything with colour.

    AVOID.

Can you wash down the 2x4 wood that supports interior walls with bleach to remove mold?

I have torn the walls out of a room in my home because of mold and moisture issues. I have removed the moldy insulation and fixed the moisture problems. (wearing a mask and other protective gear of course). There are a few of the 2 x 4 boards that support the wall that have a little bit of mold on them but other than that they are not damaged. Can I wash them off with a bleach water solution and keep them in place or do I have to tear them out and replace them altogether? Can you wash down the 2x4 wood that supports interior walls with bleach to remove mold?
There is no need to replace the studs in your repair.

There are commercial products (including bleach) that will kill the active mold. Of equal importance is mitigating the contributors to the mold problem.

Mold needs three things to thrive: Darkness (can't help this inside a wall), Food (the wood is the food- can't help this), and Moisture. Addressing the moisture will prevent future mold issues.

Mold reproduces through spores, so a VERY thorough cleaning of the area before sealing that wall back up will be to your advantage.

Best of luck. Can you wash down the 2x4 wood that supports interior walls with bleach to remove mold?
I have done this. But I used strait bleach in a garden sprayer to treat the 2x4s. I treated them when I first uncovered them. Then I sprayed them again before I put the new insulation in. Its been 5 years and the mold has not come back. Use safety glasses and a mask and old clothes. when spraying.
On a porous product like wood the mold might go deeper that the bleach will penetrate. The chlorine will also evaporate in hours or days and have no residual effect. Better to use an antifungal treatment specifically designed to do the job. I'm no engineer but if the studs are physically sound I cannot see any reason to tear them out if the mold removal is successful.
There is a type of sealer that you can buy for this kind of situation (I don't know the name of it) but, yes,,you can wash it with bleach.
    Leave the studs.

Lowes sells a concentrate ';inhibitive'; mold wash that mixes with bleach. Inhibitive means it will penetrate the wood surface. When applied, the mold can be wiped off right away while the chemical continues to penetrate into the wood.

    Good luck !
Yes use bleach it kills all mold if you want you can paint with a product called KILL'S get it at any diy stores that's after you bleach and let dry

Does the new Oxy Maximum face wash with benzoyl peroxide really bleach your hair?

Probaly. Pro-Active doesa because of the benzoyl peroxide.

It will also bleach the towels you use.

    AVOID.

Ladies. When you give your pair of panties their boil wash every three or four weeks how much bleach do you add?

I don't think I am using enough to get all the stains out.Ladies.When you give your pair of panties their boil wash every three or four weeks how much bleach do you add?
    ' BLEACH..........!!!!

    Caustic Soda is more appropriate.

Diligently removes all those nasty stains, and discretely dispenses with those irritating minor infestations.

lolLadies. When you give your pair of panties their boil wash every three or four weeks how much bleach do you add?
daph, i would use at least a gallon of domestos. and refresh your magic tree at the same time, it's good to see that you look after yourself so well.
You need a bucketful of Oxyaction by the sound of it Daphne, sometimes even that isn't enough :(
300 mls and soak for at least half hour. If that does'nt work try scrubbing with a brush and carbolic soap
Half as much as i use on my *****

I accidentally dumped a lot of comet on my dark blue jeans. I wiped it off using a dry paper towel. It didn't stain, but what will happen when I wash my jeans in a day or two? Am I going to have bleach spots on my jeans?I got Comet bleach cleaner on my jeans. What will happen when I wash it?
Get a vacume cleaner with a crevice attachment on it and vacume the hell out of that spot ...inside and outside....take it to the sink and rum cold water over it for a few minutes and then launder as usual. Good Luck!I got Comet bleach cleaner on my jeans. What will happen when I wash it?

What should I use to wash my hair after I bleach it?

I use mane n tail shampoo and conditioner right so because I wanted it longer about a year ago , and it just makes my hair look so healthy !

lol , but I need something to heal the damage or whatever after I bleach my hair

my frien d told me to keep using those little conditioner things that you can buy , y'know the ones in the tiny little package ?

helppppppppppWhat should I use to wash my hair after I bleach it?
wash with a shampoo with absolutely no sulfates or parabens. try Aubrey, Burt's Bees, Soma, J/A/S/O/N.. you dont have to use it all the time if you dont like the smell and how it's not super sudsy, but use it right after you bleach so it wont strip your hair like sulfate does. it's the same chemical they use to clean floors.

next get a deep conditioner, honestly, i think the best is dumb blonde by bed head. it's specifically for people who JUST bleached/ colored their hair. leave it on for 10 minutes. What should I use to wash my hair after I bleach it?
You need to use a hydrating shampoo. Probably one that is ment for blonde or bleached hair. Because when you mix certain chemicals to bleach hair it can turn green and when bleaching hair it can wear your hair down and damage it easily, Hydrating shampoo can restore your hair keeping it looking healthy and the blonde shampoo can keep it from turning green. Hope this helps.
RIGHT after you bleach it, don't use shampoo, just conditioner. It should be a really deep conditioner... Then the next day go back to both shampoo and conditioner. I'd use the deep conditioner for the first week and then switch back to your regular conditioner, but use the really good deep conditioner once a week. Hope this helps!
you need a deep conditioner. you can buy them at walmart, target, etc...sally beauty supply also sells good ones. they're inexpensive and you do them once a week to keep your hair healthy

What exactly is a ';bleach wash';?

My hair is bright green from this stupid hot tub @ my aparment.....i have really long hair and very blonde hair normally...the green is from the chin down but the top of my head is still blonde....

The guy at Sallys said to go get a bleach wash....what exactly is this and how much does it usually cost? Would putting blonde on top of the green cover it up? I have been using a clarifying shampoo and it has made the green lighten up but it will not completly get rid of it over time, will it? Please help! What exactly is a ';bleach wash';?
clarify your hair, then use a purple shampoo, if that still doesn't work...shampoo with regular shampoo then condition with ....yes...ketchup. the red will neutralize the green. think of colors on a color wheel. the colors across form each other will cancel the other out. a bleach wash is nothing more than bleach used for highlighting your hair, it will damage it. if it still doesn't work go to your hairdresser and ask for a ';soap cap';What exactly is a ';bleach wash';?
Why didn't you ask the guy what it was and how much it costs? Or just go to your nearest salon. A bleach wash is a hair bleaching component that is added to your hair when it's in the process of being washed. It is intened to cover up anything you don't want in your hair, basically stripping the hair color away to it's natural color. Now since you're a natural blonde you're just fine. Putting blonde on top of the green will not make it blonde again it will make it some other color. I wish you the best of luck in getting your hair color back.
why didnt yuo ask the eprson that told you about it? ditz.

Is it safe to wash a zebra print comforter with bleach?

i want to wash my zebra print comforter and add bleach. im not sure if its bleach safe because i took off the little tag that tells you how to wash it.Is it safe to wash a zebra print comforter with bleach?
No, don't use bleach. Bleach will fade the colors. Use a bleach formulated for colored items, and go easy on the amount, unless your comforter is heavily soiled. Then you might want to soak it first. I would wash it in cold water to be on the safe side, and if you put it in the dryer, use a low setting. Either throw a tennis ball in with the comforter when you dry it to keep the fluffy filler from becoming wadded and lumpy, or take it out a couple of times and give it a good shake, then return to the dryer. Is it safe to wash a zebra print comforter with bleach?
Detergent with fabric safe bleach is supposed to actually brighten the colors. As it usually specifies on the tag whether or not to use bleach or how to wash your zebra print bedding set and yours is gone, maybe you can find a similar set and ask them to check the tag to see what it says? Here's two sites that sell zebra print comforters. Maybe you can get the information from one of them.

  • How do you get bar soap residue out of a wash cloth on which you cannot use chlorine bleach ?

I have tried Calgon water softener. The formula miust have changed. My husband will load up the wash cloth with Irish Spring bar soap, but doesn't rinse the wash cloth thhoroughly when he is done with it. Chlorinw bleach takes out the built up residue, AND THE COLOR.How do you get bar soap residue out of a wash cloth on which you cannot use chlorine bleach ?
The product that may help you is in the laundry detergent section.

    It's a 1 liter/quart size plastic bottle.

It's called Gal Friday, and is a laundry additive. How do you get bar soap residue out of a wash cloth on which you cannot use chlorine bleach ?
At Walmart or a similar store, they sell a powdered product call 20 Mule Team Borax in the laundry detergent section. This product is fabulous, and should do what you need. It is also good for removing fabric softener build-up from towels and washcloths so that they absorb better.
Have you tried running hot water from the sink on it and wringing it like when you hand wash clothes? You probably won't have to wash it in the machine if he puts that much soap on it.
I would try a little vinegar water to remove the soap residue.
Doesn't it just wash out when you do the laundry.I have never heard of soap residue building up on wash cloths and not washing out in the washing machine.I have been doing laundry for over 35 years.
Use a cup of white vinegar in the presoak, and wash it in hot water. I buy white wash cloths so my family members can see if they need attention, but even some of the white ones cannot be bleached. Buy the man a nylon scrubby puff in a manly color for the shower!
Try the stain remover shout it out or oxiclean

I may time for new wash clothes.

Is it safe to reuse (wash with hot soapy water and/or bleach) ziploc-type food storage bags?

I do it all the time and it is also good for our environment -- recycling you know.

Waste not, want not. As the saying goes.Is it safe to reuse (wash with hot soapy water and/or bleach) ziploc-type food storage bags?
yes it sure is. i have done it forever! Is it safe to reuse (wash with hot soapy water and/or bleach) ziploc-type food storage bags?
Yes, as long as the bag never contained raw meat. You don't want to take a chance that you didn't clean the bag thoroughly enough. Your health is not worth the price of a few ziploc bags.
my mom has been doing it for years. i used to say she was ghetto, but now i see why. hey i am still alive haha so i guess it is
not bleach but if your using it for thing other thatn food its ok like screws and stuff
    yes
Plastic is amorphous, which means particles, such as liquid or food, can get trapped within the plastic and be difficult to wash out. Disinfectants like bleach kill germs that feed on those particles. If you don't disinfect the plastic periodically, it will smell of decaying food.

This is different from metal, which is crystalline and easily cleaned.
we do.... however, not when it was something like chicken, pork or other bacteria causing items. cookies, dry snacks - sure wash air dry (stand them up in your dishwasher and let them air dry. forthe others that had really nasty type things - rinse them and use for trash, animal messes and things like that!

I live in a hot humid climate. Mold grows on walls. I wash the walls in a solution of bleach, it soon returns?

I live on the coast in Panama, a warm humid climate. How do I get rid of the mold on walls. After washing in a solution of Bleach, it returns in a matter of days.Even afer painting the walls with oil based paint, it returns in 2/3 weeks. Also, my books are badly effected. I have not been able to find a commercial mold killer that works. Any ideas?I live in a hot humid climate. Mold grows on walls. I wash the walls in a solution of bleach, it soon returns?
It looks like you are doing some of the right steps to get rid of mold which is using bleach on the affected area. While bleach is good to kill mold you need to make sure that all areas are cleaned thoroughly to eliminate all the mold. Mold needs three things to grow: humidity, right temperature and a food source (wood, paper, fibers). If mold continues to grows you will need to check for water leaks into your building. Make sure your air conditioner works. And also you may want to consider using a dehumidifier, because the humidity is entering your house or business. If your wall is outdoor and you live in a warm humid environment unfortunately mold will grow naturally in those conditions and will return eventually after you clean it.I live in a hot humid climate. Mold grows on walls. I wash the walls in a solution of bleach, it soon returns?
The paint didn't work because it wasn't waterproof. Most major brand use terms like ';water resilient'; but that isn't waterproof.

The only product that stops mold would be a high solid and quality water proof coatings. Bleach and water work to stop it temporarily but once it is dry you need to use a water resistant primer and top coat.

Top Secret Coatings designed a military spec paint to water proof against all sorts of problems and can with stand even the corrosive ocean without deteriorating. It is Top Secret Coatings One Part Epoxy applied after Top Secret Coatings Primer.

You need the best product on the market and going with a military spec coating will complete the job so that you don't have to worry about this major issue again.
It sounds like you need some De-humidifiers.:) It takes out the moister in the air which is what is probably causing your mold problems. Good luck!
Get a dehumidifier. Use it in the house, the mold can't exist without the humidity......
as someone who spent a few months in mississippi cleaning up mold after katrina, i can tell you that it is extremely unhealthy to leave mold growing and can lead to SERIOUS health problems. one family whose house i was working on had been living in the moldy house for only 6 weeks because they had nowhere else to go and the grandparents and children already had respiratory illnesses. in other words, this is not something to be ignored.

now, the process of actually removing it is no easy task. you'll have to strip down your entire house to the frame and sand all the mold spores off with a special kind of brush and a lot of breathing equipment so you're not inhaling the spores.. there are other experimental ways of getting rid of mold, but this is the only method i know of that actually works.

my advice is to contact your town or city hall and get them to tranfer you to the health department or housing department. my guess is that one of these departments will be able to refer you to a contractor or someone who knows what he or she is doing.

    good luck!
They make special paint that kills mold. Do you not have air conditioning? Controlling your interior atmosphere is the answer to mold.
You really need a dehumidifier. As long as the house is very humid you are going to be fighting a losing battle.
It sounds like your mold is in the walls. i don't think anyone makes a mold killer that will kill off whats in the wall, it may have to be replaced.
You need to get this professional checked out. Some molds are very dangerous to your health.

When using ';Oxi Clean'; as a booster to your wash, do you still need to add bleach to your whites?

A Yahoo! Answers participant recommended using this product, I have been but my whites aren't as white. I thought it somewhat replaced bleach so I stopped using it.When using ';Oxi Clean'; as a booster to your wash, do you still need to add bleach to your whites?
I never had much luck with Oxy Clean. I didn't like it and it took the color out of some of my darker clothes, even though it's not supposed to. I am highly successful with laundry all the time, I can get stains out of almost anything. I use plain bleach for my whites and towels and socks when need be, and for everything else I use Tide with Bleach. Tide with Bleach is colorsafe and gets all the odors out of socks and t-shirts. It's a little more expensive but worth it.When using ';Oxi Clean'; as a booster to your wash, do you still need to add bleach to your whites?
try white vinegar aswell .It works better than bleach and is better for your clothes. Report Abuse

I agree with the white vinegar Report Abuse

I use white vinegar, and sometimes baking soda if there's an odor. Tide with bleach is really the best thing out there. I usually have a bottle around, but because it's so expensive, I save it for the really BAD laundry!!! Report Abuse

Don't mix them! But I find that OXI Clean doesn't make my whites as bright, so every other wash I use bleach.
I have used both together and separately...I find that if you actually use a little less detergent when washing and pack the washer less full to give the clothing room to actually agitate, use hot water in the wash cycle things get whiter. I also recommend using only Clorox bleach... I find that the cheaper brands dont work as well and tend to yellow the whites. Using a detergent with bleach additive also helps. Also on stains remember to rub a little detergent or oxyclean into the stain itself if needed...!

Is there a better way than regular bleach to whiten clothes in the wash?

Try washing your whites in TSP from time to time. It removes all the build up of hard water and detergent. They will be nice and white again. Is there a better way than regular bleach to whiten clothes in the wash?
I work in the health field and when I lived in upstate new york my water had iron in it and made them yellowish. There is a product called iron out I used to get from the city water department and when usuing it they came out nice and white it is worth a try good luckIs there a better way than regular bleach to whiten clothes in the wash?
Baking soda helps to take stains out but i am not sure how much you would put in the washer or if they would have to soak a little while. Oxymagic works pretty good.
You can add about a half of a box of baking soda along with your laundry soap to your wash. Baking soda softens the water so that the detergent can work better and makes clothes come cleaner.

you can also buy clagon water softener it is more expensive but works good. Good Luck.
Just add dishwasher detergent instead of bleach.
I use OxiClean Versatile Stain Remover. It works really well I always add it to my whites. I think it works better than bleach it is also a lot safer for your clothing. It鈥檚 color-safe and 100% chlorine-free! It works better in the wash and when used as a pretreater, and is more advanced in fighting grass, grease and dirt stains.

They have more products for carpet, upholstery, kitchen and bath surfaces.
Of course you can use a bleach alternative like Biz, etc.. Sometimes I use Borax to boost the detergents power. Best is to use a combination of Borax 1cup, baking soda 1cup and a big squirt of diswasher detergent, it totally works!!

I washed a do not bleach item with bleach in the wash (1/2 cup). Can I make my outfit white again?

I asked a question earlier about a taekwondo outfit. I just read the label (a little too late don't you think) anyway- it looks not white anymore. Can I fix this in any way?I washed a do not bleach item with bleach in the wash (1/2 cup). Can I make my outfit white again?
If the item is discolored because it was burned from the bleach, there is nothing you can do. If it became discolored because of your water or because you washed it with items that aren't white, pick up some RIT Dye Remover at your local grocery store or craft shop...it's right there with the other packages of dye. I've saved many items of clothing using it, but again, if your item isn't safe to bleach, I'd be concerned it may make it worse by burning it instead of making it white...I washed a do not bleach item with bleach in the wash (1/2 cup). Rit dye makes a product called color out that will help. Make sure not to dry the outfit keep it wet until you can get something to remove the colors that ran onto it. You can also try soaking it in water and peroxide. They say this works I am not sure.

I got some hard water stains on the windows and surface of my car. I tried everything from vinegar to bathroom cleaner. It won't come off. Can I use chlorine bleach? Can I rub in on and rinse it out right away. Will it damage the paint job?Can I use chlorine bleach to wash my car?
it be harsh on the paint, use [lime a way]its in a green bottle, any grocery store or walmart should have it, it took me 3to 4 times to get mine off, then i used windex the last time, looks new now.a good hand wax on the paint would be good afterwards. Can I use chlorine bleach to wash my car?
I would not recommend bleach, unless you don't mind it eating your paint. Bleach is a highly corrosive base that will literally begin to destroy your paint. If id doesn't make the paint dissolve completely it may make it come off in flakes.
no way man never ever use bleach to wash a car your paint job would be totally ruined. you'll notice that if you do it some parts would be lighter than others and would be terrible
Hello....I would suggest, that you contact a car body shop and ask them your question.
YOU ARE A MAD SCIENTIST AT HEART AREN'T YOU....

AND ONLY HAVE ONE POINT LEFT....
wash it with a good degreaser i would suggest mixing it in a bucket of water then shammy it dry i would suggest that you do a small area at a time like hood then fender ect then if they are not gone try to use polishing compound on a low speed buffer wash polish off shammy then apply a coat of wax like finish 2000 or nufinish (i like these because their easy to apply and remove alot easier than carnuba wax) and your problem should be taken care of but dont use bleach good luck

Is it safe to wash produce in a VERY weak water/bleach solution?

to kill the nasties (e-coli, etc) on the skin?

Is it safe to wash produce in a VERY weak water/bleach solution?
Of course it is safe! I work in a retirement home and it is the law that the kitchen washes all fresh produce first before cooking in a 12 to 1 water and bleach solution to kill all bacteria, because old people, just like children are very fragile. We let the produce sit in the solution for 5 minutes and then rinse them thoroughly, and then prepare them. I do it at home all the time, it kills everything including e-coli and I don't worry about things when I eat spinach or tomatoes or whatever the latest scare might be at the momentIs it safe to wash produce in a VERY weak water/bleach solution?
imnnot sure but they sell produce wash.

i wouldnt use bleach. at all.

but they have wash for it.

look where the produce is in your store.

    the fit one is:

    Purified water

Oleic acid and Glycerol (vegetable source)

    Ethyl alcohol (corn)

    Potassium hydrate (basic minerals)

    Baking soda (basic minerals)

Citric acid (corn starch and molasses)

    Distilled grapefruit oil

It does not contain any Phosphate

    thats the ingredients. no bleach
    ABSOLUTELY NOT.

Bleach is very toxic. a 5% solution kills EVERYTHING.

E.coli is easily kept from vegies with a good rinse. with bacteria it is a numbers game. it too many bugs are on the food then you get sick. Just a few is actually good for you as your body builds antibodies to the bacteria. If you live too clean you have no resistance to bugs and will get sicker.
you can sanitize pots pans, plates, silverware, cutting boards, just about anything you wash with bleach. But note: it is to sanitize, not wash. you need to wash your dishes first. After that; use 1 part bleach to 3 parts COLD water. soak your dishes in that, your dishes will sanitize.
I like washing my produce in cold water with a couple of drops of essential lemon oil. I then rinse, dry and either use or store. Essential oils have many anti-bacterial and anti-fungal properties. Any residue that might be left will not have the adverse flavor of bleach.
In America you can just wash it under the tap. I have a friend who winters in Mexico and she does use the bleach/water method so it's safe enough. You don't really have to worry about it here.
NO!! Warm water and a veg. brush will work just fine to remove any ';nasties'; and if you are going to cook the veg. then that will also take away any ';nasties'; that are left!!
It may be a bit of overkill, but yes it is. If you wash your veggies under regular chlorinated tapwater; its the same thing. Chlorine and water.
Yes. bleach is not dangerous even if a little is ingested. just rinse well so the taste is gone.

Is it safe to wash your body and face with bleach?

ok so ive been hearing rumors that people get lighter when you wash your face and body with bleach?

is this true? if not what are some ways u can make your skin lighter at home with out having to go to the store? Is it safe to wash your body and face with bleach?
omg don't change your skin colour i'm sure you look amazing like this but think of it,you're gonna damage your skin REALLY bad and its skin its for life you can't change or remake it.or maybe you can but it'll look fake lolIs it safe to wash your body and face with bleach?
there are safe and effective ways to lighten skin, but not the household bleach... that would ruin skin.

here are some home remedies for skin lightening -

    1. mix 1 tsp of milk powder, 1 tsp of honey, 1 tsp of lemon juice, and 陆 tsp of almond oil; leave on skin for 10-15 minutes before wash off.

    2. mix oatmeal with curd and tomato juice.. do as no.1.

home remedies do take a bit of time to show results.. be patient, otherwise there are also safe skin lighteners in the market formulated for this purpose.
I hope your kidding, of course it isn't safe to wash with bleach. Even if a little of it gets on your skin it will burn and blister it. There are cosmetic products out there that claim to make your skin lighter but why not just be happy with the way you are. Why use a potentially dangerous product (and I'm talking about both bleach and cosmetic bleaching creams) just to make your skin lighter.

I was cleaning my kitchen floor with spray bleach and got a tiny bit of it on my face. Over a week it spread all over my entire face. I had tiny lumpy skin covered with white tiny bumps that were sore and unreal itchy. My skin is back to normal now so NO dont put bleach on ur skin. There is bleach made for cosmetic use.Bleaching does make skin lighter but so much hassle
Nooooo don't do it. They have things at the store that are suppose to make your skin lighter but I know that if you mix yogurt and turmeric together and put that on your face, it is suppose to make you lighter. Try that, it is natural and refreshing!
    Yes! It works beautifully!

OMG, I hope your joking, I know I am. Just think about it. BLEACH. No, don't do it. Thats what the cosmetics aisle is for.
ummm if you want to burn your skin off you could wash with bleach but DO NOT DO IT you will get blisters all over and it will burn like crazy i would get something made specifically made to make your skin lighter
First of all NO WAY!it's most definately not safe!

Secondly-%26gt;you shouldn't want to change your skin colour,i'm sure your beautiful just the way you are :) x

How do you wash whites when you do not have bleach?

    How should I wash whites.

Plus I don't have bleach and I don't have time to go get any...kind of a problem.

Thanks! How do you wash whites when you do not have bleach?
I rarely use bleach.. Instead I use baking soda and my regular detergent and I SOAK my clothing.. My clothes are cleaner, whiter and last longer...

good luckHow do you wash whites when you do not have bleach?
I have never used bleach for my whites and they are really white I use regular detergent and borax. If you have let say a shirt with more than one color that also have white on it just add 1/4 cup table salt to the water to prevent color from running.
The only time you need to use bleach is if they are stained. Don't use it every time or it will seriously damage your clothes.

Just use a hot wash and hot rinse (or as hot as it will go) and normal soap. Good luck!
Use some hydrogen peroxide or Oxi Clean or some Fels Naptha soap.
    Regular detergent is fine.
Use hot water and wash as usual. Make sure all clothes are white or very light colored!

Why is it that people are not supposed to bleach their fencing jackets when they wash them?

How do you remove dirt or sweat from the jacket? Why is it that people are not supposed to bleach their fencing jackets when they wash them?
Because bleach will rot the fabric. You'd have to use so much it would be hard to rinse out completely, particularly if you mean the plastron which is thick and padded.

There should be care instructions given with the jacket by the manufacturer. If not, ask at the shop you bought it from.

How much chlorine bleach is needed in a full load of wash to kill bacteria?

I would like to use a minimal amount. I don't need to bleach the laundry. How much chlorine bleach is needed in a full load of wash to kill bacteria?
3 tablespoons of bleach in 5 gallons of water will kill all bacteria. I make homemade beer and wine and that's what I used to use for disinfection purposes before I found better products to use. But for laundry that's all you need. How much chlorine bleach is needed in a full load of wash to kill bacteria?
you would need to read the label as different brands are at different strengths apart from that an oxygen bleach may be kinder on your clothes. There are lots of products although the chlorine is probably the least expensive...also depends on how much water your machine uses good idea to put in the water and mix in the chlorine before you add the clothes as it can have a bleaching effect when too strong
With these new machines especially, that only require 1/4 cup of laundry detergent for a load of laundry, I would suggest not more than 1/4 cup of bleach.

That kind of bleach-for whites only-no colors in the load.Or you will end up with tinted whites.

    Take care.
1 cup is what the commercial says. Use cold water with bleach because the heat causes it ti evaporate out and not work as well.
I would not use chlorine bleach at all to kill bacteria. I would just go with a hot water cycle. That should help. You can also use half a scoop of Oxyclean along with your detergent.

    Good luck
i would use for a full load 1/2 cup.
