Does hair 'toner' actually dye your hair? Has it got bleach in it? Or is it just a wash out thing?

My hair has been toned down to a dark blonde, but I really want to brighten it without using bleach. Would a toner help? Blonde hair is filled with mysteries and questions. I just want it to have the healthiest treatment possible to get it blonder!!Does hair 'toner' actually dye your hair? Has it got bleach in it? Or is it just a wash out thing?
Yes - a toner dyes hair. It's used on light blond highlights to tone down the brassy-gold colour caused by the bleaching process when going from brown to blonde and then covers the range of the darker colours. Women, mainly, use toner to colour their grey hair and, although, it does become a bit lighter with shampooing, it takes many weeks. The only way to brighten your hair is to bleach it. Hi there..

No toner doesn't have bleach in it...it just has certain chemicals that tone the brassy colours.

No matter what colour you dye your hair you're still using bleach to activate the colour.... but blonde's just need MORE bleach!!??

But if you want you can try ';fudge'; colour , and shampoo to keep it lasting longer??

Good luck ;)
Toner for your hair will tint it but only darker then the color it is not lighter. I color my hair blonde and they always tone it a lavender shade to counter act the orange and neutralize it. You cant ';lighten'; your hair with bleaching it.
